CONCEPT & DESIGN INTENT
The MOMAX store at Hong Kong International Airport represents the brand’s first flagship presence within an international travel hub.
The design emphasizes clarity, precision, and modular functionality — aligning with MOMAX’s identity as a lifestyle technology brand.
The store concept was built on the idea of “Tech Mobility for Modern Travelers”, highlighting innovative accessories and travel essentials through a streamlined and luminous retail environment.
SPATIAL STRATEGY
Despite its compact footprint (200 sqft), the store achieves high visual efficiency through:
A central display counter presenting curated product collections (“Flow Series”, “1-World Travel Adaptors”, “PinPop FindMy Trackers”).
Perimeter shelving and pegboard walls maximize vertical display capacity while maintaining clean sightlines.
Open front layout with LED branding signage for clear visibility from multiple terminal angles.
Integrated lighting grid offering balanced, glare-free illumination, enhancing both product presentation and customer engagement.

MATERIALITY & DETAILING
The material palette combines:
Matte white solid surfaces and grey laminate finishes for a neutral, contemporary tone.
Metallic display rails and precision-cut shelving for product flexibility and visual order.
Dynamic digital panels at the entrance for high-impact storytelling and campaign highlights (e.g., “Enter the Dragon” Limited Series).
This restrained materiality reinforces MOMAX’s design DNA — tech-driven, minimal, and globally recognizable.

PROJECT GOALS & OUTCOMES
Establish MOMAX’s first airport retail footprint with high compliance to HKIA’s architectural and operational standards.
Enhance brand visibility to global travelers, translating MOMAX’s product innovation into a premium retail experience.
Overcome challenges such as airport security approvals, power system integration, fire safety constraints, and restricted installation hours, all resolved through detailed coordination with the airport authority and MOMAX’s in-house team.
COLLABORATION & CONSTRAINTS
This project demanded precise synchronization between design, fabrication, and compliance documentation.
Working closely with MOMAX’s internal design and merchandising divisions, the team delivered a fully modular retail system adaptable to future upgrades or relocations.
The experience cultivated deep technical knowledge in airport retail operations, setting a strong precedent for future high-security commercial projects.
