A compact 120 sqft Subway outlet at Nam Cheong Place, completed in 2024 within just two months. As our first collaboration with the global sandwich chain, the project balanced strict brand standards with on-site realities.
Standardized finishes, stainless steel kitchen fittings, and branded signage were carefully adapted to fit the site. Despite spatial constraints, smooth communication with the client ensured successful delivery and set a foundation for future Subway projects.

CONCEPT & DESIGN INTENT
This project marked our first collaboration with Subway, a globally recognized quick-service brand. The intent was clear: to faithfully implement the brand’s standardized design identity while ensuring the store could function efficiently within a very compact 120 sqft footprint.
SPATIAL STRATEGY / PLANNING LOGIC
Given the tight site conditions, careful coordination was required to maximize flow between the front counter, customer zone, and back-of-house kitchen. While Subway’s planning guidelines are consistent across its outlets, adjustments were made to align with Nam Cheong Place’s spatial restrictions and mall services.

MATERIALITY & DETAILING
Signature Subway materials — laminated wall panels, standardized color palettes, and stainless steel kitchen fittings
were specified to align with global brand requirements. On-site modifications were necessary to integrate these finishes seamlessly into existing conditions, without compromising either functionality or brand consistency.

COLLABORATION & CONSTRAINTS
Subway’s international brand guidelines provided a clear framework, yet required flexibility to suit the unique conditions of Nam Cheong Place. Close collaboration with the client and mall management ensured the implementation of practical solutions, ranging from kitchen equipment integration to signage installation. The process offered valuable insight into Subway’s workflow, paving the way for smoother future collaborations.
