CONCEPT & DESIGN INTENT

The concept draws inspiration from the anatomy of the human eye — the gateway of vision and perception. The design emphasizes clarity, precision, and innovation, aligning with SWISSCOAT’s brand philosophy of technological excellence in eye care. The space blends medical professionalism with a futuristic retail experience, creating a seamless bridge between health service and lifestyle design.

SPATIAL STRATEGY

The 1,300 sqft layout is divided into three core zones — Examination, Retail Display, and Interactive Experience.

  • The Examination Room adopts a pure white tone to reinforce clinical cleanliness and focus.

  • The Retail Display Zone features flowing wall shelves with integrated LED lighting, guiding customers naturally through the eyewear collections.

  • The Interactive Hub at the centre introduces a ceiling installation inspired by an iris, visually anchoring the space and symbolizing the act of vision itself.

This zoning encourages both professional service efficiency and customer engagement through experiential design.

MATERIALITY & DETAILING

Precision detailing and advanced lighting integration define the interior.

Curved acrylic shelving, matte white finishes, and concealed LED systems express clarity and refinement. The combination of reflective and matte textures creates balanced lighting and visual comfort, echoing the purity associated with optical precision.

PROJECT GOALS & OUTCOMES

The project aimed to reimagine the optical centre as a “Vision Experience Hub” — a hybrid between clinic and boutique. The outcome successfully introduced a forward-looking identity for the brand, highlighting SWISSCOAT’s leadership in innovative lens technology and customer experience innovation. The design not only improved spatial efficiency but also enhanced the client’s perception of quality and trust.

COLLABORATION & CONSTRAINTS

Close collaboration between the design team and the client’s optical specialists ensured that all medical equipment, display elements, and lighting systems met healthcare-grade standards. The project was executed under a tight 2.5-month schedule in the Central District, requiring detailed coordination with building management and technical vendors for compliance, installation, and lighting calibration.
