Parasol I.P.S. Ltd., a UK-founded (Scottish-owned) packaging design company, required a creative and industrially inspired workspace in Mongkok. The 3,000 sq ft. office was designed as an open-plan studio with exposed finishes and strong industrial elements, balanced by glass partitions, warm timber touches, and subtle color highlights.
Given the client’s expertise in packaging and print, precise attention was paid to material quality and color integrity throughout the fit-out. The framing was executed in dark brown tones, while the company’s light green brand identity was subtly integrated into the design. Despite its modest size, the project spanned three months to meet the client’s high expectations, resulting in a vibrant, industrial-chic environment well-suited to their creative process.

CONCEPT & DESIGN INTENT
The design vision embraced an industrial aesthetic to reflect the innovative spirit of Parasol I.P.S. Ltd., a UK-founded (Scottish-owned) packaging design company. The intent was to create a workspace that balanced raw, industrial energy with subtle sophistication, while also showcasing the company’s expertise in packaging and print through a strong emphasis on material quality and color accuracy.
SPATIAL STRATEGY / PLANNING LOGIC
The office was organized as an open-plan studio, encouraging collaboration and free movement across departments. Glass partitions introduced visual transparency, while timber accents softened the industrial tone. The zoning strategy ensured meeting, working, and display areas flowed seamlessly, supporting both creative brainstorming and formal discussions with clients.

MATERIALITY & DETAILING
Industrial finishes — such as exposed surfaces, glass panels, and brown metal framing — established a raw yet polished atmosphere.
Warm timber detailing and subtle green accents drawn from the brand identity balanced the aesthetic, preventing the environment from feeling overly austere. Special attention was paid to color fidelity, given the client’s expertise in packaging and print design, to ensure the accurate representation of materials and prototypes.

PROJECT GOALS & OUTCOMES
The goal was to deliver a compact yet high-performance office environment that embodied the brand’s industrial-chic image. Despite the project’s relatively small footprint (3,000 sq ft), the design achieved a sense of vibrancy and depth. Spanning three months, the project timeline reflected the client's precision and high expectations. The completed space became a dynamic workplace that reinforced brand identity while supporting the client’s creative workflow.
COLLABORATION & CONSTRAINTS
Located in an industrial building in Mongkok, the project faced fewer external restrictions, allowing for bold design choices. However, the client’s exacting standards for color accuracy and material performance required close collaboration and iterative approvals. This process ensured that the outcome met their professional standards and delivered a workspace that resonated with both their creative culture and brand identity.
