Qontigo’s Hong Kong headquarters were designed following its 2022 merger with Axioma, establishing a flexible, tech-enabled workplace in the heart of Central. The office supports hybrid work with hot desks, personal lockers, acoustic phone booths, and a large social pantry. The design reflects Qontigo’s global brand identity through a signature blue feature wall, hexagonal graphics, and clean material finishes.

Despite the challenges of limited natural light and tight timelines, the project was delivered efficiently and remains well-maintained to this day, demonstrating the space’s long-term functionality and design resilience.

CONCEPT & DESIGN INTENT

This project marked the establishment of Qontigo’s new headquarters in Hong Kong’s Central Business District following its merger with Axioma in 2022.

The design vision focused on flexibility, technological integration, and a collaborative work culture. The space was designed to support a hybrid work model, striking a balance between corporate identity, comfort, and agility.

SPATIAL STRATEGY / PLANNING LOGIC

Given the flexible work arrangements of the team, the layout emphasized mobility and versatility:

Hot-desking system supported by personal lockers. Phone booths for video calls and private conversations. A large open pantry for casual interactions and informal meetings. Convertible meeting rooms are designed to maximize usage and adaptability. This created a workspace similar to a co-working environment, suitable for fluctuating occupancy and activity levels.

MATERIALITY & DETAILING

Brand identity was expressed through materials and architectural detailing, featuring a vibrant blue brand wall with hexagonal graphics that reflected Qontigo’s logo and global outlook.

Acoustic panels and private phone booths were also incorporated to manage noise in open areas. Durable dark-toned carpet tiles provide a professional yet comfortable aesthetic. Clean white partitions paired with potted greenery promote a calm, focused atmosphere.

PROJECT GOALS & OUTCOMES

The objective was to deliver a modern, high-performance office space for a leading financial technology firm: Establish a strong brand presence in the heart of Hong Kong’s CBD. Supported flexible work practices and team productivity through thoughtful spatial planning. Delivered a workspace that remains well-maintained and relevant three years after completion, showcasing the sustainability and long-term value of the design

COLLABORATION & CONSTRAINTS

The project extended our longstanding partnership with Axioma and continued seamlessly after the merger with Qontigo. Required close alignment with overseas stakeholders to reflect unified brand identity. The Central District posed daylight access challenges, which were addressed through the use of transparent partitions and strategic spatial configuration. A tight project timeline demanded precise coordination with vendors and internal IT infrastructure deployment
