CONCEPT & DESIGN INTENT
Unlike typical café interiors, Grove Café at K11 Atelier was envisioned as a stylish, wellness-driven space. The concept highlighted elegance and atmosphere, aligning with K11's vision — a leading Hong Kong developer known for its refined lifestyle destinations. The intention was to elevate the café experience beyond casual dining, establishing it as a benchmark for sophisticated café culture.
SPATIAL STRATEGY / PLANNING LOGIC
The 800 sq. ft. footprint was compact yet strategically reconfigured for maximum efficiency. The front façade features clear glass and bold signage to maximize visibility among surrounding international brands. Inside, circulation was streamlined to balance customer seating with an optimized counter zone. Long banquette seating, integrated greenery, and thoughtful lighting guide customers naturally through the café, ensuring their comfort.

MATERIALITY & DETAILING
A refined material palette was key to achieving the “elegant” brief.
Warm-toned wood, textured stone, and clean neutral finishes provided sophistication, while vertical fluted detailing added rhythm and scale. Upholstered seating, natural greenery, and halo-like wall lighting softened the atmosphere, creating a modern yet inviting dining experience.

COLLABORATION & CONSTRAINTS
This project was a milestone collaboration between the client, the landlord, and the design-build team. Special coordination was required with K11’s property management to achieve compliance while preserving design integrity. The challenges of transforming a previous F&B setup into a new café within 2.5 months were met with precise planning, ensuring timely delivery and meeting the developer’s high expectations.
