CONCEPT & DESIGN INTENT
The design for E&I Beauty captures the refined calmness and modern femininity associated with Korean-inspired beauty spaces. The goal was to create an interior that radiates purity, comfort, and understated luxury, making every visitor feel at ease. The tonal palette blends muted pastels, textured fabrics, and soft lighting to shape a serene yet sophisticated ambience.
SPATIAL STRATEGY / PLANNING LOGIC
The 1,800 sqft space is structured around a welcoming reception and lounge area that flows naturally toward treatment rooms and utility corridors. The design maximizes openness and movement clarity while ensuring privacy for customers. Curved partitions and soft transitions replace hard angles, reinforcing a sense of smooth continuity and warmth.

MATERIALITY & DETAILING
A balance between tactile softness and visual clarity defines the material palette.
Light ash-tone vinyl flooring
The light ash-tone flooring creates a soft and warm foundation for the space. Compared with cold stone finishes or overly glossy flooring, wood-tone vinyl flooring is more suitable for a beauty environment, as it helps customers feel relaxed while also offering practical durability and easy maintenance.
Pale blue-grey damask-patterned wallpaper
The pale blue-grey wallpaper brings a quiet, clean and slightly classic character to the space. The damask pattern adds a delicate layer of detail without becoming overly decorative. Paired with white moulding frames, the wall treatment creates a light classical reference, making the salon feel more refined and closer to a Korean-inspired elegance.
White panelled reception counter
The reception counter is finished in classic white panelled MDF with a matte surface. The white finish keeps the reception interface clean and professional, while the panel detailing adds a sense of elegant domesticity, preventing the space from feeling too clinical. This treatment allows customers to immediately sense the brand’s cleanliness, maturity and attention to detail.
Pastel rose velvet curved bench
The pastel rose velvet bench is one of the most tactile and emotionally memorable elements in the space. The velvet texture brings softness, while the pastel rose tone creates a feminine atmosphere without becoming overly sweet. The curved form also gives the lounge area a more embracing quality, helping customers feel more settled while waiting.
Built-in display cabinet with LED lighting
The built-in white display cabinet, with glass shelving and integrated LED lighting, presents products in a clearer and more refined way. For a beauty salon, product display should not feel overly sales-driven like conventional retail. Instead, it should become part of the overall service experience. The LED lighting allows the products to be visible while maintaining a soft and calm atmosphere.
Chrome wall sconces with crystal trims
The chrome wall sconces with crystal trims add a subtle sense of refinement to the space. Rather than acting as large decorative features, they elevate the atmosphere through smaller-scale details, which is especially suitable for the feminine refinement required in a beauty salon.
Acoustic ceiling tiles with recessed lighting grid
The acoustic ceiling tiles with recessed lighting respond to the beauty salon’s need for both acoustic comfort and practical illumination. Beauty services require a calm sound environment so that customers can relax, while the recessed lighting provides even illumination and reduces unnecessary visual distraction.
Mint grey fabric curtains
The treatment room curtains are finished in mint grey fabric, softening the boundaries of the treatment areas. Fabric partitions feel warmer than solid walls and prevent the private areas from becoming too enclosed or oppressive. This material also echoes the overall pastel palette of the salon.
White marble top with matte champagne gold frame
The white marble top, paired with a matte champagne gold frame, introduces a sense of understated luxury. It is not a loud expression of luxury, but a mature, clean and refined finish that supports the beauty brand’s professional image.
Overall, the material strategy is highly delicate and carefully controlled. Instead of relying on dramatic forms, the space builds its effect through touch, colour, lighting and proportion, allowing the sense of comfort, calmness and trust required in a beauty service environment to emerge naturally.

PROJECT GOALS & OUTCOMES
The project successfully translated the client’s vision from fashion retail to a wellness-focused brand identity. By emphasizing comfort, trust, and a beautiful experience, the design offers both functionality and atmosphere. The space evokes confidence and relaxation, setting a benchmark for future beauty retail expansions under the client’s brand.
COLLABORATION & CONSTRAINTS
As the client’s first major beauty outlet after transitioning from fashion, the project demanded a delicate balance between luxury presentation and cost efficiency. The team worked closely with the client to maintain a consistent visual narrative, carefully managing procurement of fabrics, wallpapers, and lighting fixtures within tight timelines.
