In 2016, CSC Global Sourcing Ltd. established its new Hong Kong office at Evergain Plaza in Kwai Chung, strategically located near the container terminals to strengthen logistics connectivity. As a newly founded subsidiary with U.S. collaboration, the company positioned itself as a global sourcing hub specializing in furniture, apparel, and textiles.

The 3,800 sq ft. workplace was designed around an open-plan concept that maximizes transparency, natural light, and team interaction—the interior blends industrial-inspired elements with modern finishes, creating a collaborative and efficient environment for cross-border operations. Functional areas—including conference rooms, open workstations, and a breakout pantry—were deliberately integrated to support both client meetings and daily workflow.

The design intent emphasized communication and interactive operations, reflecting CSC Global Sourcing’s global outlook and dynamic approach to procurement and supply-chain solutions.

CONCEPT & DESIGN INTENT

The design vision for CSC Global Sourcing’s new Hong Kong office at Evergain Plaza was to create a workplace that embodies transparency, collaboration, and international connectivity. As a newly established subsidiary in partnership with a U.S. firm, the office needed to project both a contemporary corporate identity and operational efficiency. The concept balanced functionality with a modern industrial-inspired aesthetic, ensuring the environment felt both professional and dynamic, reflecting the company’s role as a global procurement hub.

SPATIAL STRATEGY / PLANNING LOGIC

The 3,800 sq ft. office was planned around an open-plan layout to encourage communication and teamwork. Circulation paths were designed to maximize visibility and connectivity between departments, with workstations arranged in clusters to promote interaction. A central conference room, enclosed with glass partitions, provided a private yet transparent meeting environment. Supporting spaces such as the pantry and breakout areas were positioned to serve as informal gathering points, reinforcing a culture of openness and accessibility.

MATERIALITY & DETAILING

The design incorporated a palette of clean white surfaces, deep blue accents,

and transparent glass to create a bright and cohesive visual identity. Dark timber flooring provided contrast, grounding the modern finishes with warmth. Linear lighting and recessed LED strips enhanced circulation areas, while track lighting highlighted collaborative zones. The industrial detailing—such as exposed ceiling services painted white—reinforced the contemporary aesthetic. Sustainable choices, including energy-efficient lighting and modular office furniture, ensured long-term adaptability and reduced environmental impact.

PROJECT GOALS & OUTCOMES

The project was successfully delivered on time and within the targeted two-month construction period. The completed office not only met the client’s operational requirements but also reinforced their brand positioning as a forward-looking, globally connected sourcing company. Staff satisfaction was enhanced by the open and well-lit environment, which fostered interaction and increased productivity. The flexible planning also ensured that the office could evolve with the company’s growth and changing business demands.

COLLABORATION & CONSTRAINTS

Close collaboration with the client’s U.S. partners and local management team was critical to achieving alignment on design expectations and brand representation. The project’s location in Kwai Chung, near the container terminals, emphasized logistical connectivity but also posed practical constraints, including space efficiency in a relatively compact footprint. These challenges were resolved through careful planning and by adopting multi-functional solutions, such as flexible workstations and shared meeting facilities, ensuring every square foot was optimized for performance.
