ENOCHDECO’s first MTR project — a 150 sqft. MOMAX pop-up store proved that small spaces can require significant efforts. Working in a high-traffic, tightly regulated transport hub meant meeting strict safety, material, and documentation standards, with nearly two months spent on approvals before construction began.
Despite retaining existing air-conditioning and fire systems, the project required precise planning and careful coordination to meet both MOMAX’s branding goals and MTR’s compliance requirements. The store was delivered on time, following three months of intensive preparation and execution.
We thank MOMAX for their patience and collaboration, and design lead Jophy Fung for his exceptional coordination, which earned praise from both the client and landlord. Special thanks also go to the MTR design team, whose rigorous yet constructive approach made this a gratifying project.
ENOCHDECO의 첫 MTR 프로젝트인 150 sqft 규모의 MOMAX 팝업스토어는 작은 공간이지만 큰 노력이 필요한 작업이었습니다. 유동 인구가 많은 엄격한 규제 환경 속에서 안전, 자재, 서류에 대한 까다로운 기준을 충족해야 했으며, 시공 전 승인 절차만 약 2개월이 소요되었습니다.
기존 공조 및 소방 시스템을 유지하면서도, 정밀한 계획과 철저한 협업을 통해 MOMAX의 브랜드 목표와 MTR 규정 요건을 모두 충족시켰습니다. 약 3개월의 준비와 시공을 거쳐 제때 완공되었습니다.

CONCEPT & DESIGN INTENT
Our vision was to deliver a compact yet impactful retail environment for MOMAX’s first pop-up store within the MTR network, balancing brand visibility with operational efficiency in a high-traffic setting. The design embraced MOMAX’s signature clean, modern aesthetic, using bold colours and precise lighting to create a fresh, technology-driven retail identity that could endure daily commuter flows.
SPATIAL STRATEGY / PLANNING LOGIC
Given the 150 sqft footprint, space planning focused on clear circulation, product visibility, and functional zoning. Merchandise was arranged along perimeter display walls, with a central round display unit to anchor the space and draw customers inward. The layout ensured that even in peak commuter hours, customers could navigate easily while maximising product exposure from multiple sightlines at the station concourse.

MATERIALITY & DETAILING
All finishes and fixtures adhered to the MTR’s pre-approved materials list, meeting strict safety and performance criteria.
This included flame-retardant surface materials, certified fixtures, and impact-resistant finishes. LED lighting was integrated into shelving to highlight product lines, while energy-efficient illumination supported both visibility and sustainability. Bold colour blocking in green, yellow, and blue is aligned with MOMAX’s brand palette, enhancing visual recognition.


PROJECT GOALS & OUTCOMES
The primary goal was to complete the store within the tight MTR compliance framework while ensuring the final design reflected MOMAX’s innovative, customer-focused brand. Despite its compact size, the project required meticulous planning, with on-time delivery achieved after a three-month process from site handover to final inspection. The outcome was a visually striking and operationally efficient store that met both MTR’s rigorous safety standards and MOMAX’s retail branding objectives.
COLLABORATION & CONSTRAINTS
The project’s success relied on close coordination between MOMAX’s team, INNODECO’s designers, and the MTR design and safety departments. Special thanks go to design lead Jovi Fung, whose attention to detail and proactive communication earned high praise from both client and landlord. Key challenges included the complex approval process, requiring extensive documentation and certifications before work could begin, and working within an active, high-traffic transport hub. The strong cooperation among all parties ensured the project was delivered smoothly, reinforcing the value of partnership in demanding environments.
